Welcome to the 22nd Annual Rio Tinto Alcan

about the festival

The Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society fosters learning and exploration of Canada's diverse multi-cultural heritage. This is accomplished through the presentation of performing, visual & culinary arts and dragon boat racing.

Commitment to Sustainable Practices
The Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society is embracing a new way of thinking and acting about our future. By developing a proactive strategy that promotes sustainability we will expand beyond our immediate community to areas within the reach and the confines of our influence to support the greater society.

Influenced by three key elements:

  • the need to build sustainable growth within our community activities,
  • the desire to improve the quality of our community life, and
  • our interest in protecting the environment,

We are developing strategies that will combine the above in a harmonized initiative.

We take pride in the legacy we are building for our children and future generations. Working with our partners on a new synergistic approach we hope to become cleaner, healthier, and more cost efficient at the same time becoming more accessible.

The Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society is looking beyond sustaining our own organization to improving an overall quality of life as a part of a larger sustainable community in Vancouver, and British Columbia.
