COOKING STAGE
Chefs face off
At the Rio Tinto Alcan Cooking Stage Vancouver's finest aspiring chefs will put their culinary skills to the test as they strive to win the title 'Aluminum Chef.'
If you are a fan of the Food Network's Iron Chef, you won't want to miss Vancouver's own Aluminum Chef Competition.
Now in its third year, the competition is a big attraction. Chefs from two cooking schools prepare an entrée-style dish using Slide aluminum foil, Alcan's non-stick aluminum foil product. Competitors' dishes are also judged on presentation, creativity and, of course, taste.
The challenger with the highest score after Saturday's competition faces the challenger with the highest score after Sunday's competition.
The result is a Sunday night, head-to-head showdown between the top two chefs to determine who will prevail as the Aluminum Chef.
