DRAGON ZONE 2010

Dragon Zone is the practice facility owned and operated by the Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society, presenter of the Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival. Situated in the south east corner of False Creek, just south of Science World, the Dragon Zone is easily accessible by Skytrain and bus and is very close to 3 parking lots.

The Dragon Zone features a fleet up-to-date dragon boats including Six-Sixteen boats made in Vancouver and the off-shore built BUK's and Gemini. All our boats are under 4 years old this year. We also offer the use of marathon canoes and OC6's (6 person Outriggers) and marathon canoes to our dragon boat team members. NEW THIS YEAR! Come try our new 10 person dragon boats! PFDs, paddles and two coach boats round out our small craft fleet.

Dragon Zone is also the home of Paddles Up. These community paddling sessions provide the public with a unique chance to get out on the water and learn about the exciting sport of dragon boating. At only 10$ per adult and 5$ per child twelve and under it's an affordable way to enjoy the water with friends and family.  Participants must be over 4'10" to use a paddle effectively but children are always welcome. Come and check out this affordable on-water paddling experience.

Date: Most Sundays starting April 3, 2010 until September 26, 2010.
Cost: $10.00/session for adults, 5$ for children 12 and under.
Time: 1 pm and 2:30 pm.
Please arrive 15 minutes before start time.
