Practice Club/Dragon Zone

Welcome to the Dragon Zone© Paddling Club!

The Dragon Zone© Paddling Club is a full service sport and social club operated by the Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society, offering paddling programs for both small boats (canoe, kayak and outrigger) and dragon boats. The 2011 Dragon Zone features a large and modern fleet of 20 person and 10 person dragon boats, marathon and regular canoes, kayaks and outriggers.

The Dragon Zone is also the home of the Sunday Drop-In Paddling Programs. We supply the instruction, the boats and safety equipment, paddles and PFD (life jackets). You supply the energy and fun. The Fee is only 10$ per person, 5$ for kids under 12. Pre-registration isn’t necessary but helpful, especially if you are a large group.

For more information, please call Juliana at 604 688-2382.

NEW THIS YEAR
The Dragon Zone operates a small rental fleet, available to non-members at competitive rental rates.

Whether you’re a team looking for a place to paddle, a paddler looking for a team, an experienced or a novice paddler, or a family looking for a fun thing to do on the weekend, the Dragon Zone Paddling Club is the place for you.

DRAGON ZONE OPERATES IN A CITY NEAR YOU!

ONE MORE STEP TOWARDS BEING AN OLYMPIC SPORT

JOIN DRAGON BOAT CANADA – YOUR NATIONAL ORGANIZATION

Hi Everyone,

You may not know this but dragon boat paddling is the fastest growing water sport in North America. It is the desire of many dragon boaters to one day see their favourite sport at the summer Olympics. To achieve this can be a long and arduous process but to start with, the sport must meet Sport Canada requirements which include such things as membership numbers, national and international events.

When sports are part of the Sport Canada family, the sport then is eligible to apply for funding to assist in the development of the sport from grassroots to high performance.

It is for this reason that we’d like to encourage all paddler’s to become a member of Dragon Boat Canada
