Event Dates and Times:
Saturday, June 16,2012, 8 am to 6 pm
Sunday, June 17, 2012, 8 am to 6 pm
Races start at 8 am
All other activities start at 10 am

Location:
At Creekside Community Centre, Concord Pacific Place,  Creekside Park and the waters of False Creek.

Festival Entrances:
1455 Quebec Street (east entrance), Concord Pacific Place at Quebec & Pacific Avenue (north entrance) and at Athletes Way at the north end of Ontario Street, (enter near 1st and Ontario).

Blessing Ceremony:
Experience the “awakening of the dragons” during the Eye-dotting Ceremony, Friday June 15. Ceremony performed by the Evergreen Taoist Church.

World Beat Stage
World Beat Stage will be presenting the best in World Music by professional recording artists.

Baby Change Room
On Creekside Park between sponsor tents and toilets.

ATM Cash Machines
Across Quebec St at Vancity.

TD Bank is on Manitoba, one block south from the site.

Relax and enjoy the ride. In the interests of the environment we encourage you to use public transportation when you visit the Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival.

Take the Skytrain!
We are located just a one minute walk from the Main Street/Science World station. The first Skytrain on Saturday will get you to the site (Main Street Station) by 6:45am and the first train on Sunday, by 7:45am.

Take the Bus!
Take the bus directly to the Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival by hopping on the #3 Main, #8 Fraser/Downtown, or the #19 Metrotown/Stanley Park. On the weekend these buses start running early and all stop just outside our front gate.

Take your bike!
June is Bike Month, the annual celebration of cycling. If you are tired of high gas prices and want to take action against climate change, June is a great time to start riding a bicycle. Bike Month includes over 50 exciting and educational events including rides, festivals, movies, safety courses and maintenance workshops. Cycling to the Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival is a great way to integrate sports, environmentalism and sustainability. On-site at the festival, BEST will provide a secure bike lock-up service for FREE at the North entrance.

If you must drive:
From the east – drive west on Terminal to Quebec

From the west – drive east on Pacific Blvd. and turn right on Quebec Very limited street parking may be found along Pacific Blvd., Expo Blvd., Quebec & Terminal, 1st and Ontario.

While at the Festival:
Roaming the crowded Festival grounds while riding or walking your bike, wearing your roller blades or walking your dog can lead to frustration and possible injury. We strongly encourage you to please lock up your bike, remove your roller blades and leave your pup at home.
