Race Volunteer Duties:

Race Volunteers are assigned to work specifically with the dragon boat teams around the Race Site and Racers Village.Volunteers are assigned to their stations at the start of each race day; duties may involve any of the following tasks and training will be provided at the beginning of each shift:

confirming race registration of participating teams
directing participating teams to their tents in Racer’s Village and answering race-related questions
calling teams from Racer’s Village to the marshalling area
directing teams to the loading docks
supervising the loading and unloading of teams onto the dragon boats
aiding officials at the start or finish line
distribution and posting of race results & advancements
management of race site equipment

VOLUNTEERS FOR RACE SITE REGISTRATION ONLY

Our events are successful because of the dedicated volunteers. We welcome new and returning volunteers and thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 2013 Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival.
- Check the time for each race event that you can work as a volunteer.
- Once you have submitted your registration you are on the Race Site Volunteer Crew for each time and date that you have chosen.
- Please be very sure that you will be present for every date and time that you choose, thank you.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

I understand and acknowledge that, in volunteering for the 2013 Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival being organized by the Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society (the 'Society'), I am entering into a volunteer relationship that can be terminated at any time by either myself or the Society, for any reason. I further understand that by signing this agreement, I give my permission to the Society to contact any references provided by me and to undertake a criminal records check (if necessary for specific departments, to which I will be notified ahead of time) which will be provided free of charge. I understand that any information provided by me on the Volunteer Application Form will be used by the Society to determine my suitability as a volunteer and for no other purpose than that of conducting the Dragon Boat Festival Event and that any information received by the Society as a result of the reference and criminal records checks will not be provided to any third party. All the information provided in the Volunteer Application Form is true and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand that if any of the information provided is determined to be false, I will not be asked to be a volunteer for Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival.

RELEASES

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the 2013 Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat Festival.
I hereby release the Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival and the Canadian International Dragon Boat Foundation, it's directors, staff, sponsors, contractors, vendors and agents arising from loss, damage or injury, howsoever incurred, resulting from my participation in or about the Event.
