Staying healthy and safe
We recognize and thank those who have kept our community safe since the onset of the pandemic. We have been privileged to partner with public health and community organizations to coordinate action, and provide assistance.
The Society notes the importance of responsibly bringing our community together, and while our community is generally back to pre-pandemic operations, we recognize the importance of remaining vigilant and maintaining appropriate safeguards for a range of situations. Please follow us on our Facebook or Instagram profiles for the latest updates.
The following general safety measures are currently in effect at our facilities:
General
- Key communications are made on dragonboatbc.ca/media, dragonzone.ca/alerts, on the Society’s social media channels, and via email.
Pre-Arrival
- Staff and paddlers will not be allowed in to the docks if they feel ill, or are currently testing positive for COVID or other communicable diseases.
- If any staff or paddlers are close contacts of a positive COVID or other communicable disease case, we encourage them to stay home for a day or two out of an abundance of caution.
- Guests are encouraged to use their own certified PFD and/or paddle if they have them.

- Check-in has been set up to conduct wellness checks and welcome visitors. Only electronic payments are accepted.
- Visitors are encouraged to maintain a suitable distance from other visitors.
- Masks are available for any visitor on request.
Docks and Boats
- All boats, PFDs, paddles, and common surfaces are disinfected on request.
- Hand sanitizer is provided on request from any staff member.
- Boat reservations are evened out to reduce the number of people on the docks at any one time.
- Washrooms are available from at Creekside Community Centre during their hours of operation.
