March 24 Summary of Updates Regarding Dragon Boat BC Events and Programs

VANCOUVER, BC – 2:00 PM – Dragon Boat BC is aware of the updates regarding COVID-19, and has been in constant contact with government agencies and key stakeholders over the past two weeks to evaluate and monitor the situation. Plans of action have been developed and submitted to different stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and clear response to avoid any further confusion. Please see below for the current status of different sites, programs, and events administered or operated by Dragon Boat BC.
 
Facilities:
Docks and Sheds: Docks closed
Community Centre Office: No phone calls possible, physical office closed. Please email info@dragonboatbc.ca with any inquiries.

Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival: Ongoing discussions with all stakeholders; full or partial plan of action to be announced this week. Please visit concorddragonboatfestival.ca/alerts for more information.

Steveston Dragon Boat Festival: Currently scheduled for August 22. Please visit stevestondragonboatfestival.ca/alerts for more information.
Vessi 500 Championship: Ongoing discussions with all stakeholders; full or partial plan of action to be announced this week. Please visit dragonzone.ca/alerts for more information.
Dragon Zone Paddling Club:
Dragon Boat Practices: Suspended until further notice. Updates to be announced this week.
Adult and Youth Group One Time Events: Rescheduling in progress for events in April (please email info@dragonboatbc.ca for more information).
Intro to Dragon Boat Programs: Updates to be announced this week.
Steering Clinics Level 1 and 2: Rescheduling in progress for events in April (please email info@dragonboatbc.ca for more information).
Community Paddling Day: May 3 event postponed.
Team Orientations: Suspended until further notice.
