August 15 Special Program: Family Discovery: Community in Dragon Boating in collaboration with the Chinese Canadian Museum
Visit the Chinese Canadian Museum for a special program inspired by their new exhibition, Momentum: Power and Identity in Sports, as we celebrate the vibrant culture, and enduring spirit in the sport of dragon boating.
Five Blessings Collective returns to the museum with their third episode of A Year of Blessings, an audio play series celebrating Chinese holidays! Join us for live performances of their play Band of Dragons, which follows Faye the dragon, a fifth-generation dragon boat drummer, as she navigates tradition and change.
Performances will take place in English and Cantonese, followed by special presentations by Dragon Boat BC exploring the Dragon Boat Festival, the history of racing, and the vibrant community that champions this cultural sport today.
Event cultural programs are presented with the support of partners including Canadian Heritage, Government of BC, City of Vancouver, and BC Arts Council.

Marshalling, Results, and Advancements
Medals
Bike slow down zones will be in effect around Concord Pacific Place and Marshalling. A lane of parking on Pacific Boulevard will be temporarily converted into loading zone only for the race day. Additional security measures will be provided around the site along the seawall and Carrall Street and on-water. The closures and detours will be supported by VPD officers on site through the day.
